Cecilia Fox is a studio-based florist based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, Aotearoa, New Zealand. Our studio was founded by Melanie Stapleton in 2007 on Wurundjeri country in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia, where we still return to work on special projects. Cecilia Fox has thrived on community and collaboration in both Australia and New Zealand.

At the intersection of nature, art, creativity and community, we follow cycles and seasons to create botanical installations and floral arrangements. We ​​work ardently with the most untameable and transient materials, capturing moments of growth and abundance, seeking beauty in the unlikely and the unexpected. A deep respect for the past, present and future of the natural world informs every element of our approach, guiding us from creation to compost.

Melanie Stapleton has been immersed in floristry for over 25 years, starting her career in Aotearoa at age 16. After relocating to London to work for many top florists, Mel moved to Australia to start Cecilia Fox, where, for over 15 years, she has been considered one of the country’s most influential florists.

Melanie is dedicated to the growth and evolution of the industry. Focused on a better world and a blooming industry now and into the future. Melanie is a leader in the sustainable floristry movement. In 2021, she returned to her roots and a fresh start in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
