Cecila Fox is an award-winning creative floral studio based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand). Our studio was founded by Melanie Stapleton in 2007 on Wurundjeri country in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia, where we have thrived on community and collaboration.
We follow cycles and seasons to create dreamscapes of nature in the form of botanical arrangements and installations, seeking beauty in the unlikely and the untamed. A deep respect for the past, present and future of the natural world informs every element of our approach, guiding us from creation to compost.

ETHOS
After more than two decades working in weddings and large-scale events, we’ve witnessed first-hand the amount of waste that can be generated by florists. For an industry that relies on the land for our livelihood, this seems especially counter intuitive.
Cecilia Fox is committed to following more sustainable floristry practices. We work with local growers, gardeners and foragers whenever possible, and guide our customers towards what’s in season rather than what’s on trend. We don’t use floral foam, avoid plastics and all our carefully sourced materials are composted at the end of their lives.

Cecilia Fox founder and creative director Melanie Stapleton has been immersed in floristry for over 25 years, starting her career in Aotearoa at age 16. After relocating to London to work for many top florists, Mel moved to Australia to start Cecilia Fox, where for over 15 years she has been considered one of the country’s most influential florists. She has recently returned to her roots, and a fresh start, in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
In 2018 Mel and the Cecilia Fox team launched Flowering Now, an annual community event that brought together many of Naarm's (Melbourne) floral studios under the one roof, giving participants the freedom to exhibit experimental concepts without the constraints of a brief.
